Brian John McCook, 28, from Ballymoney, is set to face trial at Antrim Crown Court for allegedly intimidating a witness in a murder trial. The incident occurred on September 9 last year, where McCook is accused of threatening a man to deter him from testifying.

During a hearing at Limavady Magistrates Court, McCook confirmed his identity and acknowledged the charge. The court established a prima facie case, with no objections from McCook’s defense.

The alleged intimidation took place after McCook discovered his neighbor was a potential witness during a murder trial jury selection. McCook chose not to comment or present evidence in his defense.

Judge Peter King released McCook on bail, with the arraignment scheduled for March 4 at Antrim Crown Court.
