The Dervock & District Community Association is thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of funding through the Cloonty Community Benefit Fund for an exciting new initiative, Connect at the Co-Corner. This project promises to transform the village by creating additional shared and communal spaces, fostering social interaction, inclusion, and overall wellbeing for both residents and visitors.
In collaboration with the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council (CC&GBC) Estate Services, the community association aims to enhance key areas within the village. Notable improvements will take place beside the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch and in Riverside Park, which is set to be renamed McKinley Park in honour of a local figure.
The enhancements to McKinley Park will include lowered kerbs and accessible pathways, making it easier for wheelchair users to navigate. Additionally, a disabled fishing stand will be conveniently located near the new seating areas, ensuring that the park remains welcoming and accessible to all community members.
A highlight of the Connect at the Co-Corner project will be the development of an outdoor games area adjacent to the Peppermill Café, located in the Co-Corner area. This new feature is expected to attract more visitors to the village, providing opportunities for recreation and community engagement.
