Ballymoney DUP councillor Darryl Wilson has confirmed his intention to stand for the Northern Ireland Assembly in North Antrim in 2027.
Wilson expressed his deep-rooted connection to the area, stating, “I was born here, went to school here, I work here, I live here and I have raised my family here.” His commitment to the constituency spans over 14 years, during which he has dedicated himself to supporting local communities, collaborating with businesses, and addressing the needs of residents.
Wilson highlighted the necessity for stronger Assembly representation in North Antrim, advocating for a representative who comprehends the unique challenges faced by local towns and villages. His straightforward approach prioritises visibility, accessibility, and active listening, ensuring he remains attuned to the concerns of the electorate.
“I believe unionism is strongest when we work together, respect one another, and focus our efforts on delivering for the people we represent,” he stated, highlighting the importance of collaboration within the Democratic Unionist Party.
Looking ahead, Wilson expressed keenness for continuing his work alongside his colleague Paul Frew MLA and other DUP council members across North Antrim. He reiterated his commitment to his constituents with a simple mantra: “Show up. Work hard. Listen to people. Deliver.”
As the 2027 Assembly elections approach, Wilson’s proactive stance and community-focused ethos position him as a formidable candidate for the North Antrim seat.
