Police are appealing for information following an arson attack in Ballymoney in the early hours of this morning, Friday, 9th October.
Detective Inspector Hanbidge said: “We received a report at around midnight that a suspected petrol bomb had been thrown at a property in the Carnany Drive area.
“Officers attended the scene, where colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were already present and had extinguished the fire, which had caused some smoke damage to the property.
“There was one person in the house at the time, but no injuries were reported. However, there were properties on either side of the property, so the attack could have potentially endangered other people and their homes.
“This is being treated as deliberate ignition and our enquiries are ongoing.
“We would appeal to anyone with any information which could assist, including CCTV, dash-cam or other footage, to contact police using our witness appeal form at https://reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals, quoting reference 45 of 09/10/26, or to call us on 101.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/.”
