At approximately 7 PM on Sunday, July 6th, reports emerged of a male brandishing a machete in Garvagh. The police acted swiftly, arriving on the scene within minutes. Upon sighting the officers, the individual took out the weapon and charged toward them.
The officers were able to disarm the suspect without any injuries to themselves or the public. The male has since been taken into custody and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
