The Ramore Restaurant in Portrush has backtracked on recent price increases across its menus, following widespread criticism from customers ahead of The Open golf tournament. The restaurant’s revised pricing comes after many customers took to social media to express their discontent over the hikes, sharing images of the new menu that sparked further outrage.

Acknowledging the feedback from the community, Ramore Restaurant issued a statement on social media clarifying their position: “We’re aware of recent conversations around pricing during The Open – we’ve heard your feedback and, effective today, we’ve revised and adjusted pricing across all of our menus.”

The family-run establishment, a staple of the Portrush community, emphasised their commitment to delivering an exceptional experience during this busy week. To accommodate the anticipated surge in visitors, Ramore has hired over 30 agency staff to bolster their kitchens and front-of-house teams. Additionally, more than 30 security personnel will be on duty around the clock to ensure the safety of all guests, along with over 20 entertainers scheduled to perform across their six venues throughout the week.

The restaurant also highlighted their investment in safety measures, including barriers and additional toilet facilities, to align with crowd safety policies. They stated, “We have simply been investing more as a business for our customers to ensure enjoyment and safety. This, of course, creates additional business bills.”

In a heartfelt message, the Ramore team reminded patrons that behind the business is a family dedicated to providing the best service possible. “Everyone can make mistakes; however, nobody deserves slander and hatred,” they expressed, urging the community to consider the human aspect behind their establishment.

The restaurant concluded their message by thanking their supporters and expressing hope that everyone enjoys this memorable week in Portrush, reinforcing their dedication to both their customers and the local community.
