Families are being invited to get creative as Bricks4Kidz comes to Coleraine Town Hall for a special day of hands-on LEGO® fun on Saturday 3 October.
Part of The Great Coleraine Build, a month-long celebration of all things brick brought to the town by Coleraine Connect, the event will feature a dedicated SEN session, two Big Family Build sessions and a LEGO Technic Masterclass for children aged seven and over.
The day begins at 10am with a dedicated SEN session, limited to 30 children and with an adult ratio of one adult for every two children.
This will be followed by Big Family Build sessions at 11.15am and 12.30pm, giving families the chance to dive into a colourful world of bricks and let their imaginations run wild.
The hands-on sessions will feature a creative play zone incorporating Duplo, oversized giant bricks and standard LEGO bricks, alongside structured 2D and 3D building activities for children aged four and over.
Whether they are already enthusiastic young builders or simply enjoy making and creating, children will be encouraged to experiment, use their imaginations and, most importantly, have fun.
The afternoon will see things step up a gear with a LEGO Technic Masterclass at 2.30pm, strictly for children aged seven and over.
Using LEGO Technic pieces including gears, axles and motors, participants will explore the engineering behind their creations and build dynamic models that can move.
A spokesperson for Coleraine Connect said: “October is going to be a really exciting month in Coleraine and we wanted The Great Coleraine Build to offer something for children and families of different ages and abilities.
“Bricks4Kidz is all about getting children away from simply watching and allowing them to get hands-on, build, experiment and use their imaginations.
“We’re particularly pleased to be able to offer a dedicated SEN session at the beginning of the day. We want as many children as possible to have the opportunity to be part of The Great Coleraine Build and enjoy the experience.
“And for our older builders, the Technic Masterclass adds something completely different, bringing together creativity and engineering as they discover how gears, axles and motors can bring their creations to life.”
Places for each session are limited, and booking is strongly recommended.
