The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, has honoured the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Causeway Coast Branch during its 80th anniversary year.
The branch provides vital welfare support, advice, friendship and practical assistance to serving RAF personnel, veterans and their dependants across the Causeway Coast and Glens area.
For 80 years, the Association has championed the belief that no member of the RAF community should be left without the support they need.
The Mayor hosted a special reception at Cloonavin to mark the branch’s anniversary, which was also attended by the Lord Lieutenant for County Londonderry, Mrs Alison Millar.
Councillor Dawn Huggins said: “The Royal Air Forces Association plays a vital role in supporting members of the RAF community, both past and present.
“I am aware of the tremendous work carried out by the Causeway Coast Branch and the difference its volunteers make to individuals and families across our Borough.
“Reaching this significant 80th anniversary is a wonderful achievement and is a testament to the dedication and commitment of everyone involved.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution of the Association and to thank its volunteers for the invaluable support they continue to provide.”
